Service booking terms

Draft for review ยท 13 October 2026

1. Who we are and these terms

These draft terms concern services supplied by Jurassic Waste Ltd. Contact details are available on our Contact page. They cover waste collection, clearances and related services agreed in your booking. A customer account holds the billing details, jobs and invoices; portal users are the people authorised to act for that account. These terms remain a draft pending business and legal review and do not replace an existing contract.

2. Quotes and booking confirmation

A portal submission is a booking request unless we expressly confirm acceptance. A contract is formed when we confirm the service, price and arrangements. Estimates based on photographs, descriptions or approximate volumes are not fixed prices unless stated. We will explain any proposed change in scope or price and obtain your agreement before carrying out additional chargeable work. A purchase order alone does not change the agreed scope or guarantee a collection slot.

3. Information you provide

Please give accurate collection and billing addresses, contact details, waste descriptions, quantities and access information. Tell us about stairs, parking restrictions, permits, lifting needs, contamination and hazardous or unusual materials before we accept the booking. You must own the items or have authority to arrange their removal. Do not include valuables, documents or items you wish to keep in the agreed collection area.

4. Access, safety and excluded materials

Provide safe, lawful access and any permits or permissions that you are responsible for under the booking. We may pause or refuse work where access is unsafe or the waste differs materially from the agreed description. Hazardous waste, asbestos, chemicals, liquids, gas cylinders and other restricted materials must not be included unless we have expressly agreed to handle them lawfully. We will discuss safe alternatives and any properly applicable costs rather than proceeding without agreement.

5. Collection times and service delivery

We will carry out the agreed service with reasonable care and skill. Arrival windows are estimates unless a specific time is expressly guaranteed. We will tell you about material delays and agree suitable next steps. If we cannot deliver the agreed service, we will discuss rearrangement or an appropriate refund; your statutory rights remain unaffected.

6. Prices, VAT and extra work

Your accepted quote or booking confirmation sets out the price, what is included, and the VAT treatment. Consumer prices will include VAT where applicable. Additional loads, excess weight, waiting time, specialist handling or extra labour are chargeable only where the basis has been disclosed and agreed, subject to applicable law. Any free waiting allowance and subsequent rate must be stated in the booking. No new fees or rates are introduced by this draft.

7. Invoices and payment

Payment is due under the terms stated in your accepted quote, booking confirmation or customer account agreement. Where a purchase order is required, provide the correct reference before work starts. Each job is normally invoiced separately. Please raise invoice queries promptly so we can investigate them. Paying by account does not require the driver to collect payment unless separately agreed. Any late-payment interest or recovery charges must have a lawful basis and will be explained; this draft sets no new charges.

8. Changes and cancellations

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to amend or cancel a booking. We will confirm what can be changed and explain any proposed costs before you agree. Outside statutory cancellation rights, any cancellation charge must follow the terms disclosed before booking and be fair and proportionate to the circumstances, taking account of costs saved and any replacement booking. This draft does not set a fixed cancellation fee or notice period.

9. Consumer cancellation rights

If you are a consumer and enter a service contract online, by telephone or away from our premises, you generally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason, subject to lawful exceptions. Tell us clearly using the contact details on our Contact page; no special wording is required. Any refund due will be made within the applicable statutory time limit, generally 14 days after you tell us you are cancelling a service contract. Where required cancellation information was not provided, the cancellation period may be extended by law.

10. Starting work during the cancellation period

We will obtain your express request before starting a service during a statutory cancellation period. If you then cancel before completion, you may need to pay a proportionate amount for work properly supplied, but only where the legal conditions for that payment are met. You lose the statutory right to cancel a fully performed service only after your prior express request and acknowledgement that the right will be lost on full performance. Booking a date or accepting general terms alone is not treated as that express request and acknowledgement.

11. Waste records and environmental duties

We will handle and transfer waste in accordance with applicable legal duties and provide the waste transfer or consignment documentation required for the service. Please supply accurate waste descriptions and relevant business details, and check the documentation before signing. Photographs may be used to evidence the work and condition of the site. No guaranteed recycling percentage is promised unless expressly supported by the agreed service and records.

12. Problems, damage and liability

Tell us promptly about service problems or alleged damage so we can investigate and put matters right where appropriate. We remain responsible for losses for which we are legally liable. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Consumer rights, including remedies for services not performed with reasonable care and skill, are preserved. This draft imposes no new liability cap.

13. Account access and personal information

Only authorised people should use your customer account. Keep login details confidential and tell us promptly if access should be removed or you suspect misuse. We use booking, contact and billing information to administer the service and meet legal obligations, sharing it with relevant service providers only as appropriate. Any accounting integration, including Xero if connected, must be covered by the business privacy information before use. These terms do not replace a separate privacy notice.

14. Complaints, law and changes

Raise complaints through our Contact page and include the booking or invoice reference where available. We will investigate and explain the outcome and available next steps. Contracts are intended to be governed by the law of England and Wales, without taking away mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to consumers under applicable law. Changes to terms will be identified before they apply to future bookings; existing bookings are not changed retrospectively without a lawful basis or agreement.
